Brian Hogg

Brian Hogg After gaining a Diploma of music Brian worked with a group touring around Victorian Schools presenting an interactive music educational program with Victorian Arts. Time spent as an instrumental music teacher in Government Schools led to further study for a Bachelor of Education majoring in Music Classroom & Instrumental pedagogy. Further instrumental teaching as Head of Brass Studies at a private school led to Brian taking on the role of Head of Music before he left teaching to work full time for The Salvation Army in the Creative Arts.

Brian has worked throughout Australia as a guest conductor, adjudicator and clinician and has been recognised by the Australian Band And Orchestra Association (A.B.O.D.A.) for his contribution to music education. He has also received awards from A.B.O.D.A. for his compositions for the wind band repertoire.

As a Salvationist Brian has been involved in Army music making for most of his life. He currently works for The Salvation Army Eastern Victoria Division in the Southern Australia Territory as Creative Arts Director and conducts The Melbourne Staff Songsters. Brian believes that music and the creative arts can be vital components of worship services and, when utilised in God honouring ways, can be used to usher congregations into the presence of God in powerful, glorifying ways.
