Major David Mundy
Born in Adelaide, I spent my childhood, teenage years and early adulthood in the same city until being commissioned in 1976.
I am married to Jennifer, with three adult children and one grandchild.
I have had appointments as corps officer and divisional youth secretary as well as being at the training college, THQ personnel dept, and in aged care where I am currently experiencing chaplaincy at James Barker House. I am also partnering in mission with Footscray Outreach, a non traditional style of Salvation Army ministry.
I’ve always had an interest in the creation of God, enjoying my natural surroundings. Whether it is in the mountains or snorkeling around the bay, there is so much to appreciate in the diversity of God’s handiwork. I also enjoy watching others as they too create, whether it is by painting, or sculpturing just to name a few. I’m known for my visual displays, often incorporating a floral touch.
In recent years, I have been challenged to view worship in a greater dimension through 24-7 prayer, finding sensory worship (use of all five senses) and broadening my communication with God. I’m still experimenting. To allow our creative God to reflect a little of that attribute through my life is indeed a privilege.
